- The NDSC is seeking exciting and entertaining Workshop and Panel Discussion proposals from self advocates for the Youth & Adults Conference for the 2014 National Convention in Indianapolis, IN. All submissions are welcome and encouraged!
- Workshops are 45 minutes long and delivered 3 times to separate audiences during Saturday’s program. Every presenter must have a support person. It can be anyone who will help you with your presentation. Choose someone who will attend the conference with you and help make your presentation a success.
- Panel Discussions usually consist of three or more speakers who present a prepared speech of 3 to 5 minutes each to an audience of their peers. Questions from the audience are facilitated ensuring success of all panelists – no matter how challenging the questions. Panelists are encouraged to participate during the presentation without a support person with the exception of assistance with Audio/Visual needs.
- Workshop speakers and panelists who are selected must register and attend the Y & A Conference. All speakers and panelists are responsible for their travel expenses. Honoraria or speaker fees are not available. This policy has allowed the NDSC to keep registration fees affordable and make the convention accessible to all. The convention planners will look over all proposals and choose the presentations that will fit our space, needs and provide balance in content. Everyone who submits a proposal will be contacted by mail or e-mail as to whether or not your proposal will be included in the upcoming convention program.
